Admire the ancient theatre of Epidaurus, the finest Greek theatre and a true marvel of acoustics. Discover the adjacent site of Asclepeion, a healing sanctuary dedicated to the god of medicine.

Stroll along the picturesque alleys of Nafplio, the first capital of modern Greece, nestled in the foothills of an imposing rock by the sea. Visit the Venetian fortress of Palamidi on top of the hill and soak in spectacular views of the sea and Nafplio.

Enjoy a delicious Greek meal at a traditional tavern of Nafplio.

Leaving Athens, we enjoy a scenic drive along the beautiful coastline of the Saronic gulf. A quick stop to admire the spectacular Corinth Canal as we enter the Peloponnese.

Reaching the land of Argolis, we encounter the Acropolis of Mycenae. Steeped in the myths of a Heroic Age, we visit the ruins of this imposing citadel with its monumental Lion Gate and Cyclopean walls. The beehive tombs and the golden grave goods tell the story of the mighty king Agamemnon and his family.

Next destination: beautiful Nafplio! Up in the old fortress of Palamidi, we take a walk along the fortifications gazing at spectacular views of Nafplio and the sea around it. Then we discover the picturesque alleys of the old town, teeming with neoclassical buildings and tasteful shops. A rewarding stop at a traditional tavern to enjoy a delicious meal and then we set off for Epidaurus.

In Epidaurus, you can see the biggest and finest ancient theatre of Greece with exquisite acoustics. The theatre was part of a healing sanctuary dedicated to the god of medicine Asclepius which we will explore thoroughly. In the company of gods and heroes, we take our way back to Athens.
