We leave Athens following the coastal highway along the Athens Riviera. Beautiful beaches and picturesque coves will unfold in front of your eyes, as we drive to the southernmost point of the Attica peninsula.
There, on the edge of Cape Sounio still stand the imposing columns of the Temple of Poseidon. Built in the 5th century BC at a sacred and strategic location at the entrance of the Aegean Sea, the temple was dedicated to Poseidon, the mighty god of the sea. While we visit the site of the temple, you will hear the fascinating history and myths that surround this unique place.
The view from here is simply enchanting. The big blue of the Aegean Sea meets the dramatic Greek light, offering you one of the most beautiful sunsets you have ever seen. We take time to admire the landscape and capture it through our camera lens. Filled with a feeling of grandeur, we leave the site for a relaxing trip back to Athens.
